Open Powerpoint 2003 docs directly into Powerpoint 2007, how to??

Powerpoint 2007 is installed on XP Pro. When I try to open Powerpoint
documents created using 2003 directly from the desktop Powerpoint 2007 opens
but the document does not. After I click open and select the document from
the list the document opens properly.
What do I need to do to get the document to open by just clicking on it? (I
am having the same problem with Word documents.)
