open .pps with .inf

Zak

Does anybody have a clue about this??

I have a .pps that I need to open with a CD. I am running on XP.
I have added the PP viewer from the Microsoft site as well.

I have created an autorun.inf with the following:
[autorun]
open= PPView97.exe presentation.pps

But, when I run it, I get the following error:

"Command line option syntax error. Type Command /? for Help."

Which I did, but, it wasnt very informative.

Any Ideas???

You'll have to search them out on your hard drive. They're not usually all
in one place.

Sonia,
Having downloaded PPVew97.exe per your post,
it's not clear how to proceed to satisfy the list of files
that must be present in the root of the CD per "MSKB
article 173973".

If I execute the download, the install produces only
a portion of what the MSKB article dictates. I.e., I only
see Base.srg through Sshow.srg in the resulting expansion,
at least in the folder I specified for the install. However,
I did a search for msi*.dll and do see those files on my
XP system so I guess it's possible to find the others as
well. Thought I better check with you before I started
"shot-gunning" this task.

Thanks,
Bill

At what point to you get this error? Is it after the presentation opens or
before? It is not enought to just pub PPView97.exe on the CD. There
are
about
25 other files that are needed. See the guidance at

Hi,

All the documentation on the web does not specify that you need all
the corresponding files associated with the .exe file.

It's very confusing, if I run the .exe, where does it store the files?
are there any .dll's I need to add?

What's the best approach for that?

Did you read the file on Echo's website? See

You missed my documentation, then. See
