Open ppt from MSP (hyperlink)

How can I open a powerpoint presentation from MSP in an
editable state and not in a presentation state.
When I add hyperlink to a ppt file - it opens as a slide
show, but I want it to open ready for edit.

I know it's an obvious question, but do you have PowerPoint installed on
your PC?

In addition, if the extension is *.pps, PowerPoint will launch as a
slide show. Also check the Windows File Association actions (in
Explorer) for *.ppt and *.pps files.

The extension is *.ppt.
I don't think the problem is in my computer settings
because I've tried it in several computers and in all it
acts the same.

It has to be the computer settings. That is how computers work.
Perhaps all computers are set the same?

When I try it with a ppt file I get a slide-show like view BUT there's a
menu at the top with "edit slides" that opens the full PowerPoint
application.
