open pre 1998 project files

I am using MS project 2000.
I need to open some MS project files dated 1997.
Is there any utility available for transforming these files into a format I
can open.

Bartmacl,
The only "utility" is to use Project 98. Once in Project 98, the files
can then be read by Project 2000 or later. If you do not have access to
Project 98 and don't mind sending the files over the internet, you can
e-mail them to me. If they are not corrupted, I will translate for you.
If you send them, be sure to zip them first.

Project 98 and i have old Project 4.1 files that i need converted to 2000.
Can i send them to you??

Yes, just zip them and e-mail. If they are not corrupted, I'll convert
and send them back.
