Open/Save Dialog "Look In:" dropdown

I just recently installed Office XP. I have one small problem that is plaguing me. This happens ONLY in Office (any program in the Office Suite), but not in any other program I have installed. When I ope the Open/Save dialog box, the dropdown list with all the drives listed does NOT work. If I click on it, the program will freeze and I am forced to close with the Task Manager

I am running Office XP on Windows XP Home. I have all the service packs for Windows and Office installed. I would appreciate any help that I can get

How long are you waiting?

Chances are good that you can wait it out and it will eventually drop down
(it might take literally a minute). To fix this, remove any mapped network
shares from your system that point to inactive or nonexistent servers.
