Open/Save Document Problem

I

Ian

Lo All, I've been playing around with Office 2007 Beta installed on Vista
beta (waiting for RC1). Since installing the TR for Office Beta I am no
longer able to open or save documents and spreadsheets...worked fine before
the TR. When I click on open or save document...nothing, no error, no dialog
boxe(s)...nothing.

Anyone have a solution? Thanks

Hi Ian,

Are you using Symantec-Norton Security/Antivirus products? If so, then in the 'Miscellaneous' tab of the Norton products turn off
the 'Office Plug-in' choice, restart your Office products and see if you can open the files.

I am having the exact problem but I am using xp. Everthing else in Office
works but I can't open a document from word. Even if I create a new document
I can not open or reopen it. I get an error message saying: document
"whatever" is not available. I contacted Norton and they had me disable
Norton and that did not fix the problem. Norton says since that is the case
that they are not the problem. ugh!

Hi Bob, Thanks a million for the tip re Norton. Spent the day going mad not
being able to open any file since downloading the Beta 2 programme this
morning.

Do I leave the Office Plug In choice turned off?

Thanks

Hi David,

There is a problem in the MS Office 2007 Beta2 Technical Refresh that causes a conflict with the Symantec-Norton Office Antivirus
Plug-in so you would need to keep it disabled at this point.

Thanks Bob, appreciate it. Could you please let me know when it will be
possible to re-activate the control as I worry about viruses etc.

Good luck,

David
