Open subform based on field input in combo box

I want a subform to popup when data entry is completed on the main form IF
the contents of the data entered into a three item combox is equal to a
given value. Eg. If the three choices are A<B, and C and the value that
triggers the popup is B, then when the user saves the record with a B in
that field, then a subform comes up requiring further data entry. Then
maybe a command button on the subform that would take the user back to a
blank record on the main form.

I really don't do SQL well, so I will probably have follow-up questions.
