Open Template as a Doc

Jerry

I have a document that in which I am attempting inserting
a link to a template that needs to open as a document. I
sucessfully used the MacroButton command in a field code
that called a macro. There were two problems with this
method however:

1. The field does not appear active with a pointy finger,
which is confusing users.

2. The macrobutton command is not working on machines
having Word 97.

Is there another way to link to a document template from
within an active document that will open the template as a
new doc?

Thanks
Jerry

No, there isn't, so far as I know. You can, though, select your macrobutton
field and apply the hyperlink character format to it so that it will stand
out. You'll have to debug your macro in Word 97 to see what the problem is
there (or post it in the word97vba newsgroup). It occurs to me that it could
be a problem with macro security for that user being set to high.
