Open Template Dialog box

O

Orman

In Word 2003, I want to set it up so when someone clicks the "New" button, the "Template" dialog box opens, instead of the "New Document" task pane. (Basicly, reverting back to how earlier versions of Word worked.)
It can't be done by just recording a macro. How can this be done?

Hi Roman,

Try this

Sub FileNew()
Dialogs(wdDialogFileNew).Show
End Sub

Hi Orman,

From the Tools menu select Customize and then in the Commands dialog, select
the All Commands Category and then locate the File New Dialog command and
drag it onto the toolbar. It will appear on the toolbar as "Other . . ."
What I did on my system was then right click on the blank document button
and select Copy Button Image, then right click on the Other . . . and select
Paste Button Image, then Edit Button Image and then modified the image so
that it looks like the page contains text to distinguish it from the blank
document button. Then right click once again on this button and select
Default Style so that eh "Other . . ." does not appear.
