openeing a fle saved on a floppy disk

I have saved a file to a floppy disk from aother computer, but when i have
brought it home and tried to open the file, i get an error msg saying the
file is not available. Can anyone help??

JoAnn Paules

If you saved the file directly to the floppy (not copied from your hard
drive), it's possible you corrupted the file. Never save to removable media.
Always save to your local drive then copy the file over in Windows Explorer.

Hi thanks for your reply. Sorry but im useless at doing stuff like this!
when i have opened the file from the floppy disk, how do i save it to my
local drive then copy it over?? i have tried to move it into "my documents"
and open it from there but it just does the same thing

Suzanne S. Barnhill

You shouldn't *open* the file from the floppy. You should display the floppy
in Windows Explorer (My Computer) and drag the file to My Documents.

I suspect that file is already corrupt and may not be completely
salvageable.

Hi thanks for your reply, I emailed the document from my work computer
straight to my home address, i have tried to open it from the email and also
tried to save it to my desktop and my documents, but it is still saying the
file is not available!! can you help? its just a word document!!
