Openeing office documents

Bill

From the start menu when I want to open a document, word, excel etc and the
dialog box opens, I double click the file name and nothing happens. I have
to start the application first and then open the document.

How can I fix this?
Using Office XP pro. 2002 and Windows XP-SP1
Thanks

Bill

It sounds like the file associations need to be recreated. Go to
Start/Run and run the following:

winword /r
excel /regserver
powerpnt /regserver
msaccess /regserver

Note that there is a space before the forward slash.

Nothing. Same thing. However I note that osa.exe opens on the task bar and
just sits there. The document still doesn't open.

Thanks
