Opening a blank document...it's not blank

When I go to open up a new blank document on Word it does not open up an actual blank document...instead it opens up the first file I ever saved on Word. The most annoying part is that the first file I saved has a bunch of unusual text boxes, so I have to do a bunch of formating each time...if you know how I get a real blank document back please help!!! Also, I just installed Office:MAC so the document that opens up is from when I did my "test drive" when I first got my Mac...Please help!!

You need to find your Normal template, open it, and delete the text in
it. See the instructions here:
http://word.mvps.org/mac/MacWordNormal.html#Find

Alternatively, you can drag your Normal template to the desktop (quit
Word first!) and let Word create a new one.
