Opening a database causes hangups

Whenever I try to open an Access database when I have another database open,
Access (Office 2003) will hang up. I have to kill MSAccess.exe in the
process list. I've tried reinstalling Access with no luck. Any suggestions?

There could be lots of reasons for this to happen. The two things come to my
mind immediatly. Make sure you have enough RAM. Make sure that you have all
available updates for windows and office
