Opening a form is slow

I have a ugly form but it matchs the paper form that gets
filled out. The form comes from 3 tables and I have the
joins in the relationship.

However, when the open the form the first time or when I
edit it, it takes seemingly forever and in the lower left
hand courner it says "Calculating.....". I have no clue as
to what it is "calculating" as this form opens up as add
only. Obviously I messed up when creating the form.

Any ideas as to what to look for?

If you are joining 3 tables, the form is obviously based on a query. How
long does the query take to open? Can you redesign the query or your table
structures to optimize it?

Also, is there any code in the Form_Load event, that could be slowing things
down?
