Opening a link in a different portion of the window

Hi all

Need a bit of advice (again)!

I'm using FP2003's "Banner & Contents" template, which gives me a narrow
window down the left of the view and a narrow one at the top, and a large
portion takes up the rest.

The big portion is called indexmain.htm, the side is called indexside.htm
and when called from the file index.htm work fine.

However, I've put some menu items in indexside which are basically images
and attached hyperlinks to them, but the pages keep opening in indexside.
How can I force them to open in indexmain?

I've tried altering target fram from the hyperlink dialog, but without
success.

As ever, thanks for taking the time to read my thread.

You are using a Frames template
- generally should be avoided and not used for various reasons
- many FP features like nav bars do not support frames

If you are going to continue using frames you need to set Targets for all your links
- each of your 3 sections are separated html files in frame windows that need to target links to the other frame windows

Right click on a frame window and select Frame Properties to set the target to one of the of the other frames

Hi Stefan

Thanks so much for that.
Using the frames have caused me a fair amount of grief - they do look good
but sometimes wish I'd never started with them.

Perhaps I was niaive to assume that as MS provided the template it just
might be compatible with other FP feaures ... !

Thanks again.
