Opening a microsoft project hangs the system

Hello everyone,

We are using Project Server 2003 to host all of our
project plans. On the client side, we have mixed
environment, some of our PM's using Project 2002 with SP1
and other PM's are using Project 2003.

The PM's who are using Project 2003 are having the problem
of opening the projects which were created using project
2002. The CPU usage goes to 100%, and takes around 15
minutes to open each plan. The plans which are created in
2003 are fine.

Using Microsoft Project 2002 SP1 client, all the plans
whether created using 2002 or 2003, opens up fast.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Murali.

Murali:

In this environment, you're best advised to create all project plans using a
2003 client. The delay you're seeing is most likely the 2003 client updating
the plan to conform with its new capabilities.
