OPening a Pasword protected file

I dounloaded a .pps file from a trusted web site, the file is password
protected with the option to read only.
When I try to open it on one computer (Win2000 SP4) (Office 2002 SP3) the
pasword dialog box gives me the option to [read only].
When I try to open it on my laptop with (Win XP prof 2002 SP) and the same
office version, I do not get the [read only] option ! and I can not open the
file...

Any sugestions

Give link (URL) so we could test if you've to buy a
password cracking software.
