Opening a report with a parameter

Suzanne

Sorry if someone has asked this before but I am new to
Access. I have created a report that I wanted to when
someone runs it - it asks them to choose a product such
as which products compete against one of our products so
that the report only gives the information for that one
product and not everything (as it does now). How do I do
this?

Try the following:

1. Open the query (design view) that is the source data for the report.

2. Select the criteria row of the Products field.

3. Type [What Product?] (be sure to include the brackets.

4. Save and close the query.

5. Click the report view to test the report.

If you want the user to select from a list of products that gets a little
more complicated.
