opening a .wpd file

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) How do you open a file attachment labeled .wpd?

That file type is used by WordPerfect. Mac Word dropped the .wpd filters
several versions back well after Corel abandoned the Mac platform. I don't
know of any current Mac software that still supports that file format.

If you have access to a Windows PC running MS Office or Corel WordPerfect
you may be able to open the file there & resave in .doc or .docx, depending
on the specific vintage of the file. Other than that you'll probably need a
conversion program such as MacLink Plus from DataViz:

NeoOffice, a Mac-specific port of OpenOffice.org, and OpenOffice.org are
free office suites that can also open WordPerfect files.
