opening & activating an e-mail account in microsoft outlook 2003

I have followed the prompts to open & activate an e-mail account in micro-soft
out-look 2003.

My isp is verizon. I have filled in all the requested information, but when
I try to send a test message I receive an error message that says:

unable to send test message, please verify e-mail address field.

And have you checked the email address in the settings?

Verizon should be able to help you. You pay them for that, after all.
