Opening an existing file

When I try to open an existing file which was created
months ago and has been used frequently, I now get a
message "File format is not valid" and can't open the
document. Help, please!

In the "File-Open" dialog box, there is a drop-down list called "Files of
type." Try changing it to "All files."

Try to open file in Word If it works -- copy and paste into a new spreadsheet
as someone has opened and saved the file in Word
