Opening an Office Data File

When I saved my archive pst file in Outlook to a CD rom,
it saved it as an Office Data File. I am now trying to
read it on a new pc, but I get error messages. I was
told that I should change the Office Data File to an
Outlook Data File which I did, but Outlook still cannot
read or import. Any ideas how to put this into a normal
pst file that I can read in Outlook? Many thanks in
advance.

You can't use the .PST file directly from a CD. Copy it to your hard
drive, remove the read-only attribute, and then try opening it.

Outlook cannot open a *.pst file from read only media. Copy to file to
folder on your hard drive. Right click on the file and select Properties.
Clear the Read Only attribute.
