Opening another person's non-standard folder

G

Gail

I have documentation that indicates you can file, open, another user's
folders. I type in the name of the user who has shared that
non-standard folder with me. The other person has also given me
permission to the Mailbox and the non-standard folder. When I click
on the drop down list all I get is the standard (Inbox, Calendar,
Contacts, Tasks, Journal, Notes). How can I access this folder
without putting it on my own folder list?

Thanks,

It will need to be in your folder list for you to access it at all. You'll
need to do the following:

1) Grant yourself at least reviewer rights at the root level folder (on the
other person's Outlook)
2) Make sure the folders you want have the right permissions for you
3) In your Outlook, find the Exchange server service (location varies by
version) and in the advanced tab, add the other person's mailbox. Close.

You'll now see the folders you have access to in your folder list.
