Opening Appointment from .MSG file makes opener become organizer

If a meeting is saved to .MSG and later loaded by another user the
original organizer is make a attendee and user opening the file becomes
the organizer. Anyone have an suggestions on how to stop Outlook from
trying to be "too smart for its own good" with these?

That happens because Outlook usually does not store the meeting organizer in
the appointment recipient table. Hence when opening an appontment, Outlook
assumes that the current user is the organizer. You can try to explicitly
add a user as an organizer using Extended MAPi or Redemption (no Outlook
Object Model or CDO 1.21 as they do not expose the recioient table
properties).
