Opening attachments programatically

Hello,

I have an attachment field on a form and placed a list box next to it to
display the file names of the attachemtns in the field. I would like to be
able to click on the list box and open any of the documents, saving the user
from double clicking on the attachment field then selecting the document
from the list.

I would also like to open the attachments manager programatically if that is
possible.

I don't understand the methods available for the attachent object (Forward,
Back, Move), but it doesn't seem like this functionality exists.

It isn't my prefered method, but I solved this by saving the selected
attached file (from the listbox) to the harddrive and opening it from
there.

It would have been easier an cleaner to simply address the file I wanted to
open directly from the Attachment field (textbox). I'm not sure why
Microsoft didn't add this capability unless they thought their attachment
manager was effiicient enough to use. Actually, having the files listed in
a listbox is quicker and easier. I simply double click the file name and
the file is opened. Using the attachment manager reqires double clicking
the attachment control to open the manager, double clicking the file, alt
tabbing to bring Access back to the forefront if I want to leave the .pdf
open, closing the manager, then reading a message about changes being lost,
then closing the messagebox. Its too many steps.
