Opening autocad files

Hi,
I have Visio Pro 2003 and am trying to open a autocad file. I get an error
message that reads ...

"Cannot open file. The file may not be a DWG or DFX, it may not be a
supported version of the DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. please try
again"

The file I am trying to open, opens fine in Autocad 2002. Are there
different versions of DWG files or is there something missing from my
installation?

I wasn't aware of an AutoCAD 2002 version? Is it AutoCAD LT by chance?
Visio can open the AutoCAD 2000 file format but is not able to open the
AutoCAD 2004 format.
