Opening calendars very slow with Outlook 2003

Hi, We have Exchange 2003 SP3 (latest service pack), clients have Outlook
2003. When Corporate secretaries open Directors/managers calendars it can
take a long time to open the calendars (sometimes 2 minutes). Anyone else
had this issue. The mailbox Priv1.edb is 65Gb in size. The server has
Windows 2000 SP4. Some mailboxes of managers/directors are very large and
calendars would have heaps of appointments.
We are replacing the server in August and installing 2007 but in the
meantime any help greatly appreciated.
