Opening data source

Is it possible to set up something like File Locations so that my Access
programme is shown when I press Open Data Source?

Example: My main document may be in D:\hkbs\letters; When I want to Open
Data Source, I have to navigate from there to D:\Access\Personal\my.mdb.
Then I have to change the Files of Type box from Word Documents (.doc) to MS
Access Database.

It doesn't really matter if the first mail merge is right but if I want to
change things, I have to go through all that again.

I'd be grateful for any ideas.

Not as far as I know, but a couple of things that might help:
a. create a shortcut to your D:\Access\Personal folder in your d:\hkbs
folder or whichever folder Word displays when you first open the Select Data
SOurce dialog
b. type the full name of your mdb (my.mdb) in the filename box in the
dialog rather than changing the file type and selecting it. (In fact you
could type the entre path name without even changing folders, but whether
this is useful to you or not depends on whether you know the name you want
and how tedious typing is compared to selection).
