Opening document maximizes previous windows

When you open a word document it will maximize the
previous word window that you have viewed along with
opening the file that you have selected. This is very
annoying. How do I turn this off?

Hi Steve,

What version of Word are you using? Unless you have the
shortcut icon property set to maximize you can have different
sizes for each Word document opened in newer versions.
