suzanne

I created a document and saved it ona disc on the A drive -
at the same time I created several other docs and saved
on the same disc.

Now I have got home I can open every doc - except the one
I need urgently. When I try to open it I get this message

"The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions:
*check the file permissions for the document or drive
*Use the file open dialog box to locate the document
(A:\suzanne\text hunt task.doc"

Can anyone help me? I need this urgently as Ihave to hand
it in tomorrow and don't have time to re-do it

thanks

Saving to a floppy is one of the top three causes of document corruption in
Word. Always save the hard drive first, then copy to the floppy. Trying to
open directly from a floppy compounds the problem and may have made your
document unusable if it wasn't already, but you can try copying it to the HD
and see if it will then open from there. You may be able to recover some of
it using the "Recover Text from Any File" setting in File Open. For more
suggestions, see http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm
