I am experiencing a consistent problem with Word 2003. Any document
that I open immediately causes Word to crash. This issue happens on my
computer at work, which is a network based workstation. I don't suspect
a virus as the root cause of this issue since there is a virus scanner
utility installed and always running.
The problem first started last week and the issue was supposedly fixed
by the support staff. I would open a document and initially, it would
open with no problems, but then the next document that I opened would
cause Word to crash. Eventually, there would be a message that the
document I am attempting to open "caused serious errors the last time
it was opened, do you want to continue opening the document?" The same
problem has now come up again. Others who are using the same
workstation that I am using don't seem to have this problem. What is
going on with Word and is there a way to fix the problem so that it
doesn't continue to happen?
