Hey Derek:
That's a classic case of a corrupted Normal template. The file is called
"Normal" (no extension) and it's in your Microsoft User Data folder in your
Documents folder. Quit Word and re-name it (to some other name, doesn't
matter what...). Your problem should be resolved the next time you restart
Word.
Now, I expect that you did not intend to be rude, but on the Internet,
typing all in upper-case is the equivalent of shouting, and most folk find
it very offensive. Please do not do that.
Since the Word help you are reading on the Mac is actually the same help you
would read on the PC, I am surprised that it suddenly turns into "less than
useless". Chances are, you have not yet adopted "Search" within the Help as
the primary method of finding things. If you do that, you will have a lot
greater success.
Hope this helps
I HAVE LOST THE DRAWING TOOLBAR, EACHTIME I TRY TO OPEN IT THE
PROGRAMME CRASHES AND I HAVE TO FORCE QUIT. I AM BEGINING TO LOSE
FAITH WITH THE MAC AND WISH THAT I HAD NEVER MOVED FROM A MICROSOFT PC
MAC HELP IS NOT USER FRIENDLY AND WORD FOR MAC HELP IS LESS THAN
USELESS
