Opening email messages

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop When I double click on the message, it does not open. I have to right click on the message and click on open message to open my emails. I have already gone into preferences and clicked on double click to open.

What am I doing wrong?

What view are you in? Preview pane below, on right? Look under View >
Preview Pane in the Menu bar.

FWIW, I prefer to view in the message in the Preview pane on right. It¹s
much quicker to go through emails. For long emails, simply click the space
bar to scroll through.
