opening entourage

every time I try to open entourage a pop-up says that the "rules file is corrupt" and I cannot open entourage. What is this?

every time I try to open entourage a pop-up says that the "rules file is
corrupt" and I cannot open entourage. What is this?

The Rules file contains information about any rules you have created. If you
have rules you need, try restoring from a backup. Otherwise, you can delete
the file and Entourage will recreate it. The file is usually found as
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity/Rules
where ~ represents your Home folder.
