Opening Excel problems

Edmund

Hi
My business partner updated my software from XP to XP professional. All has
been working well until this morning where I cannot open Excel without it
asking me to enter the CD. He has the CD and I won't be able to get it until
after next week.

Why does it ask for this when it is already installed?
How can I get round it to view my files.

Thanks

That's probably related to a custom install of Office XP pro, which has
overridden some of your previous install settings.

The message is sometimes just an annoyance. Just click Cancel and see if you
can get through.

The best option is to insert the CD and finish the install proper, though.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for the reply.

I do not have the disc anymore as he no longer works for me.

It only occured now. I cannot access the programme at all now.

What now? Any downloads help or do I have to go out and buy it?

Thanks
