Opening Excel

When I open Excel the icon and file name appear on my Start Bar as Book.xltx,
but it does not show the worksheet or workbook on my monitor. I need to click
the icon on the Start Bar to open the workbook.
Any suggestions on how to have the file open automatically.

Right click on the excel icon, select Properties. Ensure that MAXIMIZED is in
the Run: parameter. It sounds as if excel is opening, but int he minimized
state.
