Opening files (Not Responding)

Hi everyone,

When opening a file in word 98 on my windows 98 pc via the
little drop down box to select the drive, it crashes!
The machine has enough memory etc and has only recently
started doing this.

Anyhelp would be great.

Since Word 98 is a Mac application, no wonder it crashes when you try to
run it on a PC.

This is usually a symptom that you have something the folder list such as a
URL shortcut that is causing the problem. Check using Windows Explorer to
see what is in the folder.

I have this same problem with word 2000, namely it crashes when you click the
"file" tab. If I reinstall my old Word 97 the problem goes away. I checked
for shortcut files in my documents folder & there were none. Any other
suggestions?
