I have been creating files for school on MS Word for Mac 2008 and saving them on my memory stick, when I try to open them on my school computer it wont let me open them. Can anyone help? Thanks

Two primary suggestions:

1- Do Not work directly with the stick. Save to your HD then copy/move the
file to the stick. On the other end, move/copy to the HD there & work with
that copy. Contrary to the advertising USB sticks are not *drives* - they're
a great convenience for storage & transport but not for active editing, &

2- Make sure the files are saved with filename extensions [.doc, .docx,
,xlsx, etc.], especially if the "school computer" is a PC. Use the option in
the Save As dialog to Append File Extension.

If these points don't resolve your problem you'll need to provide more a
more explicit description of exactly what you're doing & what you
specifically mean by "it won't let me" - what happens when you try?

Let me add a third suggestion: it could also be that the computers cannot
read the new Office Open XML format. In that case, simply save the files as
Word/Excel/PowerPoint 97-2004 files (File>Save As), which you should then be
able to open on most computers.
