Opening files using MS Project 2000 COM

Im having problems trying to open schedules via javascript using MS Project
2000 COM objects. Calling .FileOpen <filename> operates correctly on a xp box
with IIS 5.x, however on an 2003 server box running IIS6.0 with write
permissions to the webshare always opens the schedule up in read only.
Opening the file directly in Project via the URL also opens up in read only.
