Opening from My Computer not working

If I double-click on an XLS file in My Computer, it
doesn't come up correctly.

If I open Excel and click OPEN and open the XLS that way,
it comes up correctly.

Any idea what causes it to not come up correctly from My
Computer? I went into file types and XLS is set to
Excel, so it is opening Excel, but not displaying the
spreadsheet correctly.
