Opening images in frontpage

How can I get images to open were the actual page goes dark then a new window
opens in the middle of the screen and opens out from the centre to show the
image, like seen on many websites. Is this possible with frontpage.Thanks in
advance.

It's done with some type of scripting. There's many available. Here's one:
