I have a stumper I'd like some help with. One of my users who receives many
image attachments has recently started having a problem opening them from her
Outlook email. When she double-clicks the attachment in the email, the
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer launches and hangs with the "Opening Preview"
message. If she saves the attachment to the desktop and double-clicks it
opens in the viewer immediately.
I've tried clearing the temporary internet files cache, a repair/reinstall
of Office, a new Outlook profile but nothing has worked. I changed the JPG
file association to open in Office Picture Manager and the files will open
directly from the email but she prefers the Picture and Fax Viewer because it
loads quickly. Can anyone offer a suggestion on what else might be causing
this issue? The user is on Windows XP SP2, Office 2003 SP2 and connecting to
Exchange Server 2003 and so far no other users are reporting similar issues.
