While expanding an Excel file with Macros and VBA codes,
it started to take 15 minutes to open the file. It never
did that before. I thought it was the computer, as I
worked with HP's support yesterday with nothing they
recommended worked. I scanned the disk for errors,
defragment the drive, restored to a previous time, tried
to run disk cleanup(but it wouldn't prgress after waiting
3 hours), and finally did a non-destructive recovery.
Opening the same files works great on my notebook with
simular Office products is the reason I thought it was
the computer. HP support advised me to check with
Microsoft support.
Does anybody know why adding to an Excel file with Macros
and VBA would make it so now I can't open even a file
half that size with out waiting 10 minutes for it to
open? Will the same thing eventually happen to my
notebook? Is it a software issue, and if so, what?
The CPU usage is running at 100% the whole time it's
trying to open the file and it shows two Excel files not
responding.
Appreciate any help or advise!
