Hi,
I have a Mac with Microsoft Office 2008 and I am having difficulty opening
my Microsoft Word files on a PC. Does anyone know if there is some sort of
converting software, or different extension I need to use? I appreciate your
help!

Uh, depends.

By default, WinOffice 2007 and MacOffice 2008 both use a new XML-based
file format (.docx, .xlsx, etc). Earlier versions of Office cannot read
these formats unless they have downloaded the necessary converter or
update. Look on microsoft.com or ask on a WinWord newsgroup about that:

You can Save As in Office 2008 in the old file format, Word 97-2004
(.doc), and then you'll be fine.

Otherwise, the most common cause of problems is incorrect settings in
the email program when you send the file.
