Opening Multiple Shortcuts

I am using Office 2003 (trial version) and am trying to
open 2 spreadsheets at the same time. I can open them
just fine if I open them directly from their individual
files, but if I try to open them both from shortcuts I
have on my desktop I the an error. Does anyone know
about this? Is there a fix (otherthan just buying the
full version, I am still trying to decide)?

If you have Tools, Options, General, Ignore Other Applications checked then
uncheck it.
