Opening "New Document" Problem in Word 2000

Everytime I open a "New Document" in Word 2000, the text from a particular
document that I saved on November 15th appears on my screen. The problem has
existed since that date. I must highlight and delete the text from this old
document before I can procede.

How can I eliminate this problem?

By the way, you landed in a MacWord group. Is there any chance you can
tell us how you got here? Did you follow a link from someplace? Did a
search send you here? It would be very helpful to know what is sending
Windows Word users to the Macintosh Word group.
