Opening Office 2003 applications with Windows Explorer.

When I try to open any Office 2003 application with Windows Explorer by
double-clicking, it takes forever to open and sometimes it never opens. If I
run Detect and Repair from the Help tab of an application, double-clicking in
Windows Explorer works. The fix must be repeated each time I shutdown and
restart my computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2003.

Do you have any mapped but disconnected drives? If yes, either unmap them
or connect them prior to attempting to open a file.
