I am running Office 97 on an XP machine and get a strange
error when trying to open files with spaces in the
filename. For example double clicking on "my file.xls"
will give the error: "cannot find my.xls" and the
error "cannot find file.xls" and then, after closing
those two dialog boxes, it will correctly open "my
file.xls".
This is exactly the behavior specified in article Q216657:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;216657&Product=wrd97
But for me this happens whenever I open a Word or Excel
file and seems to have nothing to do with IE (which the
article refers to)
