opening pdf files

I have a problem, not totally related to office, but I'm hoping that someone can help me anyway...
I while ago, i downloaded a pdf file, but accidentally set it to open in excel.
now, every time i try and download a pdf file, it opens in excel, which is useless.
can anyone suggest how i can change this? i cant figure it out.

Right click on a PDF, Open With..., pick your preferred program and set it
as default
