Opening Powerpoint 2007 files?

I just purchased Office 2004 at the campus store, and they assured me
there was a patch or download that would allow me to either
convert .pptx files to ppt or at very least open pptx files for simple
slideshow viewing. I can't find any such download in the support
section, though.

Have I missed finding this download, or did the campus computer store
guys just bilk me out of a wad of cash that I ought to have saved for
Office 2008, whenever that finally comes out?

Maybe they're calendar-challenged? There's indeed supposed to be an update
that allows this, but as far as I know, it's not available for Mac PPT yet.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed.

(I must have looked at that page a dozen times, but I was so hung up
on finding a download for PowerPoint that the XML converter didn't
even register, d'oh.)
